This may be "the single biggest defense industry export from Australia in our history. So this is a really, really big opportunity for the nation," Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles said today.
The upgrade will “increase the air surveillance capability for the system. This effort will further enhance the air surveillance mission software capabilities,” an Air Force spokesperson told Breaking Defense.
The agreement speaks "volumes about EDGE’s resolve to develop sound domestic production capabilities of next-gen radar systems in the short term and to position itself as a competitive radar production hub regionally in the long run," one analyst told Breaking Defense.
